A Day in the Life of a Silver Angels Home Care Aide

Have you heard someone describe their typical day at work as
“every day is different!”?

Well, as a Silver Angels Home Care Aide, every client you see is different. While the core of what you do stays the same — providing basic in-home assistance to clients such as light housekeeping, running errands, assisting with activities of daily living, and transportation — each client has a different set of needs that you must meet during your time with them. We have clients that need housekeeping and/or companion care, and we have others that need assistance with bathing/dressing/cooking/etc.

As a Home Care Aide, it’s important to always keep Silver Angels’ Mission, Vision, and Angel’s Purpose in mind at all times:

Silver Angels of Tennessee, LLC was established to be an alternative choice to nursing facilities providing long-term care for seniors or disabled adults.

We are a home care provider with a MISSION to provide individuals with a home-based choice in meeting their long-term care needs. Our caregivers provide compassionate care to assist people with their daily activities in the comfort of their own home.

Our VISION for Silver Angels of Tennessee, LLC is to have successfully contributed to the overall well-being of the people we’ve served by supporting them in their long-term care needs.

We hope this will help illustrate the vast array of client needs that you may encounter during your time as a Silver Angels Home Care Aide.

Schedules and tasks outlined below are just examples. Care Plans vary from client to client. Schedules vary based on the clients needs and Home Care Aide’s availability.

  • Wash dishes
  • 1 load of laundry
  • Medication reminder
  • Bring in her mail

2 Hours with Mr. Smith, Tasks Include:

  • Clean the bathroom
  • Clean the kitchen
  • “Pick up” the living room

5 hours with Mr. Jones, Tasks Include:

  • Bathing & hair care
  • Dressing assistance
  • Change & wash bed linens
  • Prepare lunch
  • “Pick up” the house
  • Medication reminders
  • Play a couple card games

2 hours with Mrs. Williams, Tasks Include:

  • Bring in her mail
  • Load of laundry
  • Prepare lunch

2 hours with Mrs. Johnson again, Tasks Include:

  • Wash dishes
  • Bathing & hair care
  • Bring in mail

3 hours with Mr. Smith again, Tasks Include:

  • Bathing & hair care
  • 1 load of laundry
  • Change & wash bed linens
  • Take out trash

5 hours with Mr. Jones again, Tasks Include:

  • Prepare breakfast
  • Bathing & hair care
  • Dressing assistance
  • Medication reminders
  • Go to pharmacy and pick up prescriptions
  • Go to grocery store
  • Wash dishes
  • Play a couple card games

2 hours with Mrs. Williams again, Tasks Include:

  • Prepare supper
  • Wash dishes
  • Clean Bathroom
  • Take out trash

3 hours with Mr. Davis, Tasks Include:

  • Wash dishes
  • 2 loads of laundry
  • Bathing & hair care
  • Change & wash bed linens
  • Prepare some snacks

2 hours with Mrs. Roberts, Tasks Include:

  • Go to pharmacy and pick up prescriptions
  • Take out trash
  • Medication reminders

2 hours with Mrs. Long, Tasks Include:

  • Go to grocery store
  • Bring in mail
  • Prepare supper
